– 5mm Single Twist Bobbiny Macrame cords in 4 fabulous shades
Speaking of shades, have you ever thought of sprinkling some magic? ✨ Try out Bobbiny cords sprinkled with silver and gold specks to make your projects dazzle!
Measurements:
For this piece, I opted for 5mm single twist Macrame cords by Bobbiny. Here’s a little heads-up: if you’re using thinner cords, trim them a tad shorter. If you’re going for thicker ones, add a smidge of extra length.
– Row 1: 3x 195cm / 6′ 4
– Row 2: 3x 255cm / 8′ 4
– Row 3: 3x 320cm / 10′ 6
– Row 4: 3x 390cm / 12 ‘9
DIY Steps for Your Macrame Rainbow Beauty
Step 1:
Slice up your cords and tie your first trio to the dowel using a Lark’s head knot.
Step 2:
We’re doing an alternating square knot pattern here. Begin with your left 4 cords, then switch to the right 4 cords. Keep this dance going until you’ve got 9 knots on the left.
Step 3:
Loop your cords back to the dowel, shaping that semi-circle. Here’s a little secret – it’ll resemble a Lark’s head knot. Secure with a basic double knot at the back.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 1 and 2, but for the second row aim for 14 knots on the left. Row 3? 18 knots. And for the grand finale, row 4 should have 21 knots.
Step 5:
Trim those cords from behind, and ensure all knots are snug. You can use fabric glue for added security. Finally, hang up your masterpiece!
Feeling Extra?
Attach a lovely fringe at the bottom! For a lush look, add two cords per loop.
